Lucas Parry

The spring photo-frenzy season officially kicked off for me a couple of weeks ago when I took a trip down to Gadsden, AL to photograph Lucas Parry. We got up nice and early and road tripped (with his beautiful and talented wife, Jodie. It was a gray day, but the rain held off JUST long enough. We had a great time and got some great work done... You can check them out HERE!

Humorously enough, we ran into Lucas, Jodie and their handsome son the next day at the park. We had been flying kites (no, really) and they were doing a lot of competitive sliding. Boy, it's a small world...

You can catch Lucas on his site (www.lucasparry.com) or his myspace (www.myspace.com/lucasparry).

Ken & Kristi's Engagement

I've not been this excited for a couple since I was engaged! Ken has been a good friend for several years, but most especially during the last couple. A little over a year ago, he was certain he would never understand why someone would "give up control" for marriage. I did my best to explain it at the time, but I'm pretty sure I failed miserably. In the end, all I could say was, "It's not like that... Love is... well... you'll know when you're there." Yup. That's how intelligent my end of the conversation was.

Anyhow, soon after that, he fell desperately in love with Kristi. Soon after that, my family and I did as well. I'm SO excited for them.

This past weekend, we got a chance to go shoot some engagement photos for them. They're both pretty artistic folks and were really interested in getting something funky. Guys, I think we've achieved that goal!

You can see the rest of the shoot HERE!

Bryan and April

On the evening of March 8 (for those in Nashville, that was the day after the snow), I had the great pleasure of photographing the wedding of April Sandridge and Bryan Adams. I've gotten to do several shoots with the two of them, and they are a pure joy. All of their family and friends were so excited to be there, it was completely contagious. I think it was impossible to have a bad time.

The ceremony was held in the Historic Downtown Presbyterian Church. If you've never had an occasion to see the inside, I HIGHLY recommend it. to put it bluntly, it's gorgeous. The entire thing is done in an Egyptian theme and is unlike any church you've ever seen. SO cool. When you're there, be sure you don't miss the history room just to the right of the sanctuary.

The reception was on the 20th story of the SunTrust Bank building, just around the corner. There was music, dancing, food and KIDS! EVERYWHERE, KIDS! Being a dad, I had a great time watching the little ones, hopped up on sugar and cafine, dancing for all they were worth. I also liked the fact that I didn't have to try to get them to go to bed later that night!

April and Bryan, thanks for a GREAT night of shooting. May your future be filled with all the happiness that true love brings.

Feel free to see ALL of their photos RIGHT HERE!

PS- stay tuned! Now that the wedding is over, I can post her GORGEOUS bridal photos!

The Anchor

If you've never been to "The Anchor" in Nashville, it's a super cool venue. I was there a couple of weeks ago to shoot a metal/hard-core concert. Whether it's your style or not, metal is FUN to photograph. You can see more of the shots by following the links below!
