Tom & Karie

Tom and Karie are very dear friends of mine (actually, a few of you may have seen Tom assisting me at your wedding!). As such, there was no way I was going to let them go and get married without getting in front of my camera AT LEAST once. Unfortunately, I'm already booked on their wedding day. *sigh*

At any rate, we got a chance this past week to shoot. Being that they're friends, they got experimented on. I'd had the notion to shoot someone in my backyard for a few months, but hadn't offered it as an option to anyone else. Seriously, if your photographer says, "I've got an idea! Let's shoot in my backyard!" it would probably be wise to ask for your money back. Anyhow, I LOVE what came out of that. From there we went to another of my favorite haunts (the Old Spring Hill High School), and kept shooting. I don't know about the two of them, but I had a great time and am so happy with the results.

You can see the rest of the shots HERE!

Andrea & Rich - Engagement

Andrea and my wife (the beautiful and talented Caroline) have known each other for YEARS. If I'm not mistaken, they met in elementary school had have been friends ever since. I don't have a single person in my life that I've remained friends with that long. Wow.

At any rate, they're getting married this winter, but wanted to get their engagement photos done in the spring/summer to provide a little counterpoint to the rest of the photos they'll end up with. A couple of weeks ago, we wandered out and about in Spring Hill in search of the perfect location. Boy did we find it! We found this field sitting right on the side of some back road that I don't think I would be able to find again if I tried. Not only was the grass GORGEOUS, but there was a GREAT old house up on the top of the hill.

Of course, the location wouldn't matter at all if they weren't comfortable. Lucky for me (them?) they were. Rich is a filmmaker, so he's pretty comfortable around cameras anyhow. And Andrea... well... I think she's comfortable in no matter where she is!

If you want to see more, the full gallery is HERE. Oh... and please excuse the first image of the gallery. It was too funny NOT to include and it just ended up as the first shot... that was NOT on purpose.
