Tim McPartland

I fully recognize that a GOOD blogger does this more often than I do. Unfortunately, I'm too stinkin' busy!

Tim McPartland and I have been trying to find a chance to shoot for MONTHS. Tim's schedule, like mine, keeps him super busy. We finally got a chance and took full advantage of it. Tim, being a REAL cowboy, isn't afraid to get up a bit early. We met at 6 AM and set about working. We got a ton of super solid stuff and I can't wait to see how he puts it to use on the CD!

Check out Tim's music HERE!

April (Sandridge) Adams: Bridal Portraits

At long last, here they are! We did two shoots to make sure we got some REALLY killer stuff. I'm so glad we did, too! The first was at a fantastic old home in Columbia. The second was the Belmont Mansion (April's alma mater) You can see the first shoot HERE, and the second shoot HERE!

I have so much fun shooting bridal portraits and it's always so frustrating that I can't post them until MONTHS later when the wedding is over!

Rob & Lisa

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! The Andrews family certainly did. On to bigger and better!

Rob and Lisa tied the knot back on December 15th. The ceremony is definitely the most intimate one I've shot yet. Including the bride and groom, there were 15 people in the room (ok, plus me for 16). It's pretty hard to NOT feel like you're being obtrusive when there are so few people in the room!

One benefit I didn't foresee in such a small ceremony was that Rob and Lisa were TOTALLY relaxed through the entire thing! I think they would have redone the whole ceremony if I'd asked so that I could get different shots!

Oh, I forgot to mention! It was also the 61st anniversary of Lisa's Granparents wedding! How cool is that!?

After the formals, we went back to the newlywed's home for the cake cutting and, of course, FOOD.

Thanks so much for letting me be a part of something so special. Rob & Lisa, may God bless your walk together and continue to draw you ever closer to himself and each other!

Shannon and Turner's Wedding

Shannon and Turner's wedding was, to put it mildly, a blast. The wedding was held at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Nashville. If you haven't seen it in person, it's worth stopping in. It is GORGEOUS. I've driven past it hundreds of times. I knew it had to be pretty inside, but I had no idea...

After the ceremony, the entire wedding party road on the Franklin Trolley to the reception at the Old Natchez Country Club. The place was packed. People were eating, dancing, and (as is said in the South) "having a big time." And just in case you can't tell from the pictures, the dollar dance was definitely a high lite of the night!

Congratulations, Shannon & Turner. I've had such a great time getting to know the two of you. You are absolutely MADE for each other. We wish you all the best!

Which Wich Celebrates

Today marked a big day for a friend of mine. Months ago, Chris Thomas announced on his blog that he would be eating all 51 of the fantastic whiches available from our local Which Wich?. Today was the culmination of everything Chris had set out to achieve. Today, Chris Thomas, in the site of family and friends, ate his 51st wich.

To mark the occasion, Which Wich? founder and president Jeff Sinelli flew out to our beloved Nashville to host. There were balloons, pom poms, but best of all, FREE WICHES TO MARK THE OCCASSION!

Congratulations, Chris!

This Is Luke

I met these guys at the Feedback Conference last month. When they took the stage, I was immediately taken with their stage presence and ability to command attention. Wow!

Apparently, I wasn't the only one. They ended up winning one of the main prizes there, and last Friday was our shoot. We started at the "Old Spring Hill High School" and wrapped at a gorgeous house on Sixth Avenue in Columbia. It was built in 1835, but it doesn't look a day over 160.

Check out their myspace!

New Digs and New Photos

The office is officially relocated to Spring Hill! We're now in a fantastic three bedroom house with plenty of space to stretch out. Everything went smoothly during the move with one exception: Charter cable has yet to turn on my cable! That means no internet! How, then, am I posting right now? Saxby's coffee, a few blocks away, has free wireless (and good coffee). At any rate, if you need me, calling is probably the fastest way to get me right now.

That leads me to last night. I tried desperately to get to a concert by Feedback winners "This is Luke", but missed their set by mere seconds. Still, I was able to catch sets by The Constants and Caspian. Both bands rocked. Check out the shots here for The Constants, and here for Caspian.

Triathletes for Africa

Chad Nikazy has been a friend of mine for about four years now. Perhaps that's why it's been so difficult for me to write this post. I've been trying to express just how excited I am about what he's doing without sounding goofy or fake.

Chad has combined his love of triathlons with his desire to make an impact in the world, particularly in Africa. Earlier this year he founded Triathletes for Africa. He goes to the many and various races that he would normally be at anyhow (and quite a few others) and collects lightly used shoes from spectators and athletes. These shoes are then taken to Africa and distributed by different NGOs. It's a simple solution to a huge problem, and I love it.

Be sure to drop by www.triforafrica.com and find out how you can get involved.

Oh! So anyhow, I got to shoot some promo shots for Chad and the organization. We also did some shots of him training for the various publications that he's trying to get some attention from. They like to see that sort of thing so they know he really DOES do what he claims.

Shannon and Turner's Engagement Shoot

Saturday night, the three of us made the trek up to the Parthenon in Nashville. It was warm, but not unbearably so, and the sun was just going down. It gave us exactly the right kind of light for what we were wanting. Turner and Shannon laughed through the entire shoot, hopefully a sign that they were having a good time!

We tried a couple of different, more unique shots this time around and I think we got some great results. If the amount of fun I had on this shoot is any indication, I can't wait to til their wedding in October!
